E-books

E-books are electronic books that you can access on a computer or mobile device.

The Library offers some collections of e-books:

Content: wide selection of digital volumes from Giuffrè, available online. Some exam texts are also available. Printing is not allowed.

To consult the volumes, click on the Access by IP link in the box on the right, open the drop-down menu from NETWORK at the top left and choose Library Volumes.

Content:  e-books on subjects of marketing, finance, supply chain management and business, with particular attention to communication and networking.

To consult the volumes from the home page, select Choose Databases select the eBook Business Collection (EBSCOhost) item and continue.

Alternatively, you can also search for them in the UPO Finder electronic resources catalogue.

Content: full text access to a wide selection of e-books published by Cedam, Utet giuridica, Ipsoa, Il Fisco, Leggi d'Italia and Altalex. It is also possible to consult indexes of books non included in the subscription. The section is integrated with One Legale and One Fiscale.

To consult the e-books, accessible in streaming, access ONE Legale or ONE Fiscale and on the horizontal light-blue menu, click on LIBRARY.

Maximum number of loans per user: 4 per month, for 14 days.

Description, content, method of access

Content: multi-publisher e-learning platform, owned by il Mulino, which allows access to over 380 manuals by publishers Carocci, De Agostini Scuola, and Il Mulino, in the fields of science and technology, history, linguistics and philology, music and entertainment, psychology, sociology, anthropology and geography, political science, economics, business and finance, and law.

The manuals are in digital edition, redesigned for use on computers and mobile devices, with added content to verify learning and explore the subject, and services to assist study such as slides for teachers, exercises for students, glossaries and flash cards, etc.

Access methods from PCs on the University network and outside for institutional users: via your own university IT credentials (those used for e-mail), after registration.

Digital Loans ONLY for STUDENTS

Digital Loans. Log on to https://www.pandoracampus.it/lending; the first time, you need to register (REGISTRATI in top right-hand corner) using your own university IT credentials, and then access the portal.

You will see the books available; choose the one you are interested in. You will receive an email telling you that your request has been forwarded / accepted and that you can start studying.

Duration of digital loan: 3 months, with a possible extension of 30 days beginning 30 days before the expiry date, using the EXTEND function.

You can return the book in advance by using the CESSA function; this is not possible less than 60 days after activating the loan.

You can interact on your loaned books from the Profile item in the top right-hand corner: open the drop-down menu and choose Active subscriptions.

Number of simultaneous loans for each user: 3 books

Pandoracampus is accessible according to the conditions laid down by Fondazione LIA (Libri Italiani Accessibili) and adopts integrated reading tools on the platform for visually-impaird and dyslexic users (find out more at https://www.pandoracampus.it/accessibility)

Pandoracampus provides teachers with a specially dedicated path, which you can access from the homepage by clicking on the item you want from the yellow TEACHERS box:

  • Request access to a book You can request access to the books to evaluate their possible use for courses. Register using the university email, choose the volume you wish to consult, send the request and wait for the confirmation email.
  • Personalise your course Pandoracampus offers you the possibility to create a personal page through which you can easily and quickly manage all your courses. Within each course, it is possible to signal external resources and create customised tests for your students.
  • Discover and propose a coursepack Pandoracampus allows you to combine different chapters into one single material for a specific course, which the student can then purchase.

As a teacher, you can contact the publisher and request access to the service. Once authorised, log in, go the menu “profile” (top right) and click on “Course Pack”: you can then create customised digital manuals, obviously from those present on Pandoracampus

Content: platform of e-books by various publishers integrated in BiblioUPO single catalogue of the University Library System. ReteINDACO digital resources are proposed together with books and other materials that the library makes available. There are also many open access resources available.

Content:  the collection includes a selection of about 80 e-books, which can be viewed online in HTML, or downloaded in PDF in their entirety or chapter by chapter.

Content: through the Torrossa platform you can access a selection of socio-economic and legal ebooks from various publishers (Franco Angeli, Armando, CLUEB, Giappichelli, etc.). Downloads expire after 14 days, but can be renewed without limit. List of books.

The start page will show::
- on the left side of the screen the library with the available titles (click on the cover to browse)
- on the right side of the screen a button to use all the additional features of Ubidictionary (translation, vocabulary, social).

To register, you must enter the login and password chosen by the user; the first registration must take place within the IP range of the University.
