Presentation

The 1st level International Specialist Master in Religion, Politics and Global Society is activated by the Department of Law and Political, Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Eastern Piedmont with the collaboration of the University of Padua and the Université de Rabat.

The course ideally represents a development of the “PriMED - Prevention and Interaction in the Trans-Mediterranean Space” project, funded by the MUR.

The mission of the course is to make attending students acquire the ability to benefit from the cognitive contributions offered by research and in general by the world of scientific knowledge in relation to the processes of cultural, social and religious change that are involving contemporary societies. The socio-cultural evolution of Islam in Europe and in the Mediterranean and Middle East Countries in relation to issues and problems that are currently important on an international geopolitical level is a field of particular interest.

This Specialist Master aims to advance a training proposal closely linked to an original interdisciplinary scientific activity, which outlines a set of skills capable of effectively fueling widespread paths of good practices.

Students must have sufficient knowledge of English and Arabic for the course activities.

Educational goals

At the end of the course students must have acquired the ability to effectively organize communication with subjects and groups who identify with the most different political, social and religious realities, with regard to concrete contexts, institutional and otherwise, within multicultural and multi-religious societies.

The Specialist Master is designed for graduates who intend to develop the theme of the relationship between religion and politics in contemporary societies in the direction of higher education.

The Specialist Master is structured to train consultants for public administrations and private realities and to contribute to the training of managers and public officials, third sector operators, social and health services, teachers and trainers, ministers of worship, community leaders, economic and communication operators.
