The Master is activated by the Department of Law and Political, Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Eastern Piedmont with the collaboration of the University of Padua.

Presentation

The master is intended for graduates who intend to develop the theme of the relationship between religion and politics in contemporary societies in the direction of higher education and to those who feel they must accord this particular importance in the context of the work they do or intend to undertake. The Master therefore intends to train consultants for public administrations and private realities and contribute to the training of executives and public officials, third sector operators, private social, social and health services, teachers and trainers, ministers of worship, community leaders, economic operators and communication.

The lesson hours include the following activities: theoretical training, through lectures, offered by internal and external teachers, coming from national and international academic backgrounds. There will also be seminars held by experts with supporting testimonies to integrate the theoretical aspects of the subjects under study.

All modules will be delivered in English and Arabic.

The Master's Board is composed of: Prof. Stefano Allievi (Director), Prof. Roberto Mazzola (Director of the FIDR) and Prof. Mohammed Bensalah (Director of the Instituto de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores de Granada)

Educational objectives

The course aims to make attending students acquire the ability to make use of the cognitive contributions offered by research and in general by the world of scientific knowledge in relation to the processes of cultural, social and religious change that are involving contemporary societies. A field of particular interest is the socio-cultural evolution of Islam in Europe and in the countries of the Mediterranean and the Middle East in relation to issues and problems that are currently important on an international geopolitical level.

Students enrolled at the end of the course must have acquired the ability to effectively organize communication with subjects and groups that identify with the most diverse political, social and religious realities, in the context of concrete contexts, institutional and otherwise, at within multicultural and multi-religious societies.

The Master is intended for graduates who intend to develop the theme of the relationship between religion and politics in contemporary societies in the direction of higher education.

Deadlines

  • Location of the course: Institutional courses will be held mainly at the facilities of the University of Padua, Department of FISPPA Via Cesarotti 12, Padua
  • Start of lessons: January 2020
  • Completion of the programme: November 2020
  • Attendance: to be admitted to the final exam it is necessary to have attended at least 75% of the lessons
  • Project work: Project work hours are dedicated to an experience to be carried out in Italy or abroad in public or private institutions, including research centers. Project works are supervised by tutors who have the task of guiding the project and keeping the reference teacher updated.
  • Hours and credits: 1500 hours, of which 335 of frontal teaching and 200 of project work. Completing the master's activities and passing the final exam entail the acquisition by the student of 60 ECTS.
  • Number of students: the Master will have a minimum number of 10 and a maximum number of 40 students
  • Awarded qualification: The candidate who has achieved the frequency of the individual modules, having passed the relative assessment tests, who has completed all the activities and passed the final test, will be awarded the title of 1st level University Master in "Religions, Politics and Citizenship ”signed by the Rectors of the University of Eastern Piedmont and the University of Padua and the Director of the Master Course.
