Teacher-Student Joint Committee (CPDS)

Each Department (or, in the case of Medical Area Departments, the School) appoints a Teachers–Students Joint Committee (CPDS) composed of an equal number of faculty members and students, ideally representing all Degree Programs (CdS) within the Department or School.
To ensure impartiality, CdS Chairmen, Department Directors, and the School Chairman may not be members of the CPDS. The CPDS is coordinated by a faculty member chosen from among its members.

The CPDS is responsible for:

  • continuously monitoring the educational offering and teaching quality, as well as the service provided to students by professors and researchers;

  • identifying indicators to evaluate the results of the educational offering;

  • providing opinions on the activation or closure of Degree Programs;

  • preparing an annual report.

Below is the composition of the Department’s Teachers–Students Joint Committee, organized by Degree Program.

Economics and Management (EMA) and Economics, Management and Institutions (EMI)

Law (LMG)

Business Studies with Political and Administrative Sciences (SPA) and Political, Economic, Social, and Administrative Sciences (ASPES)

Social Work (CLASS)

Administration, Services and Territory (AST)

CPDS Minutes and Annual Reports

The CPDS Annual Report evaluates whether:

  • the course pays due attention to the functions and skills required by employers, and personal and professional development, taking into account the needs of the economic and production system
  • learning outcomes are effective in relation to the functions and competences of reference
  • the teaching activity and methodology of teachers in transmitting knowledge and skills, teaching materials and aids, laboratories, classrooms, equipment and services to students provided by teachers and researchers are effective in achieving the learning objectives at the desired level
  • examination methods are suited to ascertaining achieved learning results
  • the Annual Review identifies effective corrective actions for courses to be implemented in subsequent years
  • student satisfaction surveys are effectively managed, analysed and implemented
  • updated, impartial, objective, quantitative and qualitative information on each programme offered is made available to the public by means of regular and accessible publication of the public sections of the Annual Study Programme Report (SUA-CdS).

In drafting the Annual Report, the following elements must be analysed:

  • SUA-CdS form of the previous academic year, but also taking into account that of the current year (e.g.: in 2015 the SUA-CdS of the academic year 2014/15 was complete and that of the academic year 2015/2016 was in progress)
  • student admission, course and exit data
  • results of the teaching evaluation surveys completed by students
  • results of the Almalaurea questionnaires completed by graduates (graduate profile, employment situation 1 and 3 years after graduation)
  • latest annual report of the Evaluation Team (NdV)
  • latest Annual Review Report (RAR)
  • latest Cyclical Review Report (RCR).

The Annual Report is sent to the PQA (University Quality Department) and by the latter to the NdV (Evaluation Office), to the Department / School Manager, and to the Course Chairs, and must be presented and discussed in a session of the Department/School Council.
